The Cast

Daniel Phoenix, MA, Founder and Director

Daniel received his Bachelors in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from Tufts University in 1991 and his Masters in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 1995.  Since then, he has designed and led hundreds of speaking engagements, edu-tainment theatre performances, interactive playshops, experiential learning programs, shaman/coaching sessions, and "just for fun" events and adventures.  Daniel's mission is to make personal development easily accessible to the general public.  He does this is by creating fun and interactive mediums, as well as addressing provocative topics in personal growth. He also loves scuba-diving and thunderstorms, but not at the same time.  Daniel feels so blessed to share the stage with the amazing cast members of Fireball Improv!

Brad Hemesath

As a comedian and actor, Iowa native Brad Hemesath has performed at comedy clubs and theatres across the country. His likeable standup act is off the wall and full of energy. As an actor, he recently portrayed a cop in the Seth McFarlane film Ted and was cast in a supporting role in Curtis James Salt’s upcoming feature film, A White Lie. As an improviser, Hemesath trained at Second City Chicago and Carolyn Pickman Casting & Acting Studio. He attributes 100% of his life successes to one thing and one thing only: being corn-fed.

Sue LaGree

Sue LaGree is thrilled to join the cast of Fireball Improv, having recently come to the realization she has been inadvertently performing improv with family and friends most of her life.

Sue has dreamt of a life onstage since winning second place in her town's Miss Mini Miss Contest when she was three. In the 90s, Sue became a lawyer so she could get paid to argue and bend the rules. In 2010, she fell in love with improv after studying with Peter Berkrot at Boston Casting. When not improvising on stage, Sue improvises a career in promotions and brand marketing.

Daniel Laurent

Daniel Laurent’s music career lead him to take acting and improv classes, which lead to several features and supporting roles in independent and student films. He then created MASSterpiece Radio, an internet radio station that was more of a roundtable discussion than a format to play his own music. Discussions about relationships and sexual education accounted for some of his most popular shows. After a year, he decided to end the show to focus on musical endeavors and acting opportunities.  As fate would have it, Daniel responded to a casting call for an improv troupe with a focus on relationships, sex and healthy dating. He submitted his photo and radio show links, believing his knowledge, life experiences, performing and hosting routines, and willingness to explore would make him a valuable asset to the troupe.

Steven Lee

Steven Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, and came to the United States when he was six years old. At a young age he took interest in the visual arts and in high school he was accepted into the National Art Society. Later, after some unfortunate events, Steven abandoned a life in the arts and spent many of his adult years running a construction company.  Then he made a drastic career change, returning to art, this time as an actor. He chose acting because he wanted to enjoy connections with other human beings that one normally doesn’t experience in everyday life, and he wanted to remind the world that it was all right to have compassion for our fellow man. As a fulltime actor he has been involved with numerous film, stage, and commercial projects. Steven has trained extensively in the Meisner technique, in addition to various comedy and improvisation courses.  He truly enjoys exploring this production called life.

Sal Marco

After playing the groom in the Irish-Italian comedy wedding The Claddagh Bing and DJ Johnny Hughes in Ken Davenport’s
The Awesome 80s Prom for many years, Sal Marco is ecstatic to join Fireball Improv. A physician by training, Sal is also a student of the Enneagram, having studied the psycho-spiritual system extensively under Don Riso and Russ Hudson. Sal hopes that through humor and levity his work in Fireball will bring more awareness to and acceptance of the healthy diversity of sexual experience. Sal is eternally grateful to his wife Kelly for her unwavering support and dedicates all of his performances to his beautiful son, Sebastian.

Ally Matteodo

Ally Matteodo grew up in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. She began acting at a young age and became hooked on the art after playing Rose in Oliver Twist in the fifth grade. Ally attended Williams College as a double major in Psychology and English, but still made plenty of time for theater, acting in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, The Bacchae, The Devil and Billy Markham, and Accidental Death of an Anarchist.  After graduating, Ally pursued a graduate degree in Film Production from Boston University.  While attending BU she created and acted in many projects, including two shorts films: Letting Go, and her thesis project, Revelations.  After receiving her MFA, Ally moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as an entertainment analyst in the research department of a small non-profit. She pursued acting in her spare time, performing at the Next Stage Theater in Hollywood and working as an extra in music videos, movies, and television shows.  Tired of Tinseltown, Ally moved back to the east coast in July 2011, and is ready to dazzle the city nearest and dearest her heart, Boston, with the rest of the Fireball Improv troupe!
